The food was so good and very filling. The server was attentive yet not overly done. I am definitely going back on my next trip to the area

Good food needs an update

Worse experience ever, I am glad others had a great experience. Visting the town over the weekend, in search of a place for breakfast on Sunday morning, upon entering the restaurant you were allowed to sit wherever you like all was okay. When the time came to order there was a very long wait time to receive our breakfast, we noticed other customers coming and going being waited on breakfast being served etc., when we finally received our meal about 30 minutes or so later the food was cold, wrong items brought to the table when we voiced disapproval of the service we were told there was nothing wrong with the food, when we asked to speak with the manager we were told that there would be no bill just leave the restaurant. I have never been treated that way, my thoughts were we probably on the wrong side of town. No need to return to this place... :(

Great home style food and friendly service.

I had the old time Benny. Biscuit with sausage Patty, scrambled eggs, sausage gravy, cheddar cheese on it. Oh my God it was amazingly good. Should have 6 stars

I ate at this diner on Sunday. The waitress was very friendly but the food was terrible. My fries were burnt and my cheeseburger was burnt. Have not had a good meal on any occasion. I have eaten here 3 times and will never again.

I try something different every time I come. My sister had hamburger steak with veggies. I did the crab cakes and fries. Both was good!

Loved the great service! The food was good but the home fries could have been better. They weren't bad but would have been better if the grill was cleaned before cooking the home fries. Will return because I like the friendly atmosphere! and my omelet was spectacular!!

Im in here now. Its a small place. Cute though and it is clean. They did adhere to the covid 19 recommendations, which was nice.. The sever was really sweet and very attentive. I ordered the ribeye medium rare. It was perfectly cooked and very juicy and flavorful. The only sides they had available were peas which was a bummer cause I do not care for one very much. The salad was shredded lettuce with 3 red onions and 4 cherry 🍅.... Its was plain to say The least. But its was okay drenched in ranch. All in all its was okay for the service and price

The staff are very welcoming and friendly. There are always specials and the breakfast is amazing.

Stopped here for a nice dinner. Patricia was our waitress and she was fabulous. She gave great recommendations, was very friendly, and fast service. They offer all different types of food from sandwiches, to sea food, to Greek food, to pasta. Our party tried something from each of these categories and the food was well cooked and fresh. The restaurant was clean and well decorated. It's a typical "mom and pop" restaurant, nothing over the top amazing, but nothing wrong with it either.

Great place to eat. Friendly staff. Had great soups last night and a taste of a great eggplant dish. Good portions of food. Very filling and kept me full until late at night. No room for desert.

Food used to be good, then prices went up and the customer service went down hill like being served at an orphanage. Nothing but gruel like the classic read " Oliver Twist". Not only that but they reduced the menu, and what used to be a good Steak breakfast became Steak that was raw and overdone at the same time while being shaped like a banana with depression. They brought me toast that was just lukewarm bread as well as pellety grits that tasted instant and my friend got soggy homefries. This was like eating at a greyhound bus station. I do not recommend. 0 and I mean 0 STARS!!! 0 STARS......Do not recommend to friends or family not even your worst enemy. You cannot feed your babies here even unless you have good health insurance. You might even get a tapeworm to accompany your lunch.

First time eating there Fast and friendly service, clean and comfortable atmosphere and the food was delicious. I had the shrimp and grits. Highly recommended.

Ordered the hamburger steak. Was served raw. Asked for a refund and was told no. Asked again and after some back room deliberation was afforded a refund. No apology or sympathy. Will not be coming back.

The food here is smackinnnnn'. I ordered a breakfast sandwich & corned beef hash.BEST corned beef hash I've ever had.Their mimosas.. don't even get me started.And the food came out in a flash. Super cute little place to come! 10/10 would recommend :) Also, our server was super sweet! Which makes the overall experience better. Come here & eat!

We came for breakfast. Super friendly staff. Great service and a solid breakfast menu. The coffee was good which is always a plus. We would come back.

Neighborhood diner style. American, Greek and Italian items on menu. Beer and wine, but limited selection. Large separate room suitable for meetings and parties.

One of my favorite local restaraunts. The chipped beef on toast, for instance, is way too classy to call it SOS. The staff are always friendly and make you feel at home.

Family friendly vibe, very welcoming and cozy feeling. Great place to grab lunch. Salmon was a bit undercooked when I ordered but staff was willing to fix my order. Prices are fair and hope to try them again soon!

This was my first time eating here. I always drove by it but never stopped in. On my quest for family-owned breakfast joints, my husband and I gave them a chance. I'm glad we did. Very friendly waitress, good food, and homey environment. I can't wait to go back for one of their lunch or dinner specials.

Very nice and friendly nice help very clean and serve great food my girl had the lasagna and I had the BLT both great but the lasagna serving was a little small and the price was a little high but still good but good for you and your family are good for a date so enjoy and be ready to get filled up and happy 😋

Little hole in the wall diner. Really reminded me of my adopted grandparents house! There turkey Ruben special was amazing and there zucchini fries were piping hot.

Good food and friendly atmosphere what's not to like

Good place to come for a decent meal at a fair price. Staff is polite and helpful. Food is made to order, coffee is constantly refilled and portions are plentiful. The location is within a shopping plaza that has plenty of parking. There is a room in the back available for large groups as well. Recommend this establishment.

Such great food and even better customer service! I've ordered a bunch of breakfast items from the menu, and even the seafood combo platter just a few days ago. Very scrumptious! Can't wait to go back and try a new item!

First the waitress's track Mark's on her arms and the scabs on her face shouldve made me turn around and get back in my car, but then I heard the manager solicit a married customer for him to be the first one she tried out after getting her dentures, whatever that means? But to top it off I heard the cook that was cooking my food threaten my waitress with a butcher knife. Mom and Pops Family Restaurant is just as the name implies. We've been customers for about a year and the waitresses know us. Traditionally we go on Sunday for breakfast and they have a good crowd of families, friends, and just plain old good local folks. When visitors come to town it's one of the restaurants we frequent. If you've read my other reviews you'll know I use a wheelchair to get around. This restaurant is completely handicapped accessible. The customers and waitresses always help me through the double doors and the tables are easy to get close to. The restrooms are very accessible with enough room to turn completely around so it's easier to exit. The prices are very reasonable and service is very good. Parking is easier on the weekends. Since I have a side entry van with a ramp I can park at the end of a row or get the best handicapped parking spot I've ever seen right up front (when it's available).

Service was great food was bland

I didn't have high hopes for the place based on the reviews I read but my girlfriend wanted to give it a try. The corned beef hash tasted like ground beef, but everything else was okay. Just a normal egg, potato and toast breakfast.

The best breakfast place in Norfolk. The name says it all, I ordered the gyro omelette and it was everything I hoped for and more!! I will definitely be making a return there, the wait staff was incredibly polite and put a lot of care and effort to ensure the happiness of their customers. They give military discounts and since we showed up in uniform they thanked us multiple times for our service. We felt very welcome, the facility was extremely clean. I know where I'm going to continue to go when I need a good meal.

It is exactly what you expect. Friendly, pretty fast and consistent. It won't win awards but they are always super great when I bring in my kids and the menu is vast,something for everyone.

Very disappointed with $11.95 lunch special. Consisted of fried cod, french fries, and coleslaw. The fish was battered which was thick and wet on the inside, and overly seasoned with Old Bay. Probably frozen, and a strange texture. I have never been served french fries like these were. They were a strange grey color with black bad spots all over them. Some were hot and some were cold. I will never eat here again.
